Science
Angelite is a blue form of Anhydrite, a calcium sulfate mineral that forms in sedimentary deposits. It is relatively soft, ranking 3–3.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, and should never be submerged in water as it can dissolve over time. Its powdery matte finish and pale periwinkle-blue tone are signature characteristics.

Locality
Primarily sourced from Peru, with additional deposits found in Mexico, Germany, Poland, Libya, and the United Kingdom. Peruvian Angelite is often considered the highest grade, with the most consistent colouring and energy.
