I think cleansing crystals should happen when it feels right for you. It shouldn't feel rigid or like you're making a mistake by not adhering to specific timing. Here are some beautiful ways you can cleanse your crystals:
Sage: Pass your crystals through the smoke of burning sage, palo santo, or cedar to clear negative energy.

Moonlight: Place your crystals under the light of the full moon overnight to cleanse and enhance their energy.
Salt Bath: Submerge your crystals in a bowl of saltwater (preferably sea salt or Himalayan salt) to draw out negativity.
Running Water: Rinse your crystals under cool, running water, visualizing any negative energy washing away. (Please check your crystals are water safe first)
